You probably feel isolated and exhausted. Maybe you've tapped out all your emotional, familial, and good-friends resources and simply hit a huge, high, terrifying wall. I have this to tell you: You are not obligated to suffer. There is help. There is a safe place to talk, to set down the burdens, to pull back the shields, and to be understood. I promise you, I understand.
My practice focuses primarily on women. I am passionate about helping women of all ages, sizes, belief systems, sexual orientations and backgrounds through anxiety, depression and food and body image issues. My approach is holistic, incorporating Talk Therapy, Energy Psychology and EMDR. I will tailor my treatment to your needs, strengths and comfort zone. Above all else, I am here to help. I became a therapist because, very simply, I want to help.
During our teamwork (yes, we will be a team together), in the safety of my office, by simply being heard without any judgment, you will learn to trust what you already know about yourself, which will permit you to move forward in your life. You will leave each session with specific tools, activities and information designed to help you navigate your individual challenge. Your input is vital and your role is key, but I will be with you at every step and during every moment of uncertainty. We will identify and face the monsters together. When you hire me, you hire not just a counselor but a guide, someone who helps you see the signposts and navigate the rapids. I feel privileged to partner with my clients as they build healthy new lives.
My office is conveniently located near Portland, Tigard, Beaverton and Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Depression is not your fault or a sign of weakness. It is a medical illness that needs to be treated, just like diabetes or heart disease. Feeling better takes time but you can get there if you make positive choices for yourself each day. In our work together, you will learn to manage your depression and, in the process, discover a new way of being in the world.
You are not alone if you are experiencing anxiety. One fourth of the population will suffer an anxiety disorder at some point in their lives. Treatment for anxiety is simpler than most people anticipate. I can help your racing mind and agitated body by teaching you the skills you need to negotiate an often chaotic world with the inner peace that you desire.
The crux of treatment for eating disorders rests in discovering the root cause of your hunger, something your heart already knows. I look forward to serving as a compassionate guide to you on your journey and helping you to restore the hope and meaning you deserve in your life.
